We've tested toys, simulated atmospheric effects of satellite communications, designed unique parts of our nation's radar systems, and designed test systems for the most exciting electronic vehicles on the road.
From our headquarters in the Hill Country southwest of Austin, Texas, we operate on a lean and flexible basis allowing us to adapt to our client's design needs, budget, and schedule.

Chief Technical Officer
Paul has been active in the test and measurement industry since 1978 and the founder of several successful ventures. Before Hiller Measurements, Paul founded Symtx and grew it from five dedicated engineers to a globally recognized company with more than 250 employees serving fortune 500 customers across numerous industries. Having sold Symtx in 2008, Paul started HIller Measurements, with a new mission to focus on inspired products and high quality design.
In addition to his entrepreneurial spirit, Paul is an engineer at his core. He holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering and remains hands on in the quality design and delivery of every product.
Jeff Olsen is the President and Sales Manager where his roles include channel and brand management, new product development, and corporate financial performance.
Jeff’s first position in Test and Measurement began in 1995 when he took a technical sales position with ILX Lightwave. While at ILX Lightwave, Jeff met and collaborated with Paul Hiller on joint business opportunities. In 2000, Jeff joined Symtx as a Business Development Manager. In 2006, Jeff was given the opportunity to assume the Global VP of Sales and Marketing position at VTI Instruments. While there Jeff was a key team member in numerous new product developments, corporate recapitalization, and strategy execution. In 2012 Jeff joined the Software and Modular Systems division of Agilent Technologies. Soon after joining, he was promoted to manage the Aerospace and Defense sales organization in the western US where he led the effort to develop key business analytics to measure and forecast growth which are the corporate standard today.
Sr. Manager for
Mr. Sanders has over 37 years of experience in all aspects of sales, system design, detailed design, implementation and acceptance of functional test systems and simulators. After receiving his Masters in Electrical Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Mr. Sanders started his career at Applied Technology designing test equipment for various military radar warning systems. He was a co-founder of Production Automation in late 1981 and later became its president. While at Production Automation, he specialized in the design of incoming inspection test systems and systems for testing various modules of both military and commercial aircraft.
After a brief stint at Microunity, where he developed methods for testing GHz speed media-processors, Mr. Sanders opened the northern California office of Symtx. For 3 years he served Symtx as the General Manager of the CA office and as Systems Engineering Manager for the corporation. He then became Chief Systems Engineer for Symtx and concentrated on the technical solution for most of Symtx’s largest or most important projects. For the past 8 years, Mr. Sanders has been a consultant working on his own and has specialized in microwave design of simulators and satellite test systems.
Dr. Abhay Samant
Vice President, Engineering
Dr. Samant was formerly Section Manager of RF Product Marketing at National Instruments. He is a senior member of IEEE and has over 20 years of experience in the areas of RF, wireless communications, and signal processing. Abhay has multiple patents in the areas of GPS, WLAN, and signal intelligence. He is co-author of the book, LabVIEW for Signal Processing and has published numerous conference and journal papers. In previous roles, Abhay has served as the Regional Marketing Manager for NI (India, Russia, Arabia), R&D Head for NI-India and has played multiple engineering and management leadership roles at NI R&D in Austin. Abhay received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in 2016, MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1996 and his MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky at Lexington in 1994. Abhay’s research interests include hybrid, reconfigurable architectures for MAC-PHY technologies for wireless communications, design of mmWave systems for 5g, WGig, and automotive radar applications, and developing creative technologies for making learning fun. Abhay’s research areas also include application of communication signal processing techniques onto real-time high performance computing architectures and development of scalable and flexible test-bed architectures for spectrum monitoring, signal intelligence, connected car, and radar applications.
